WINNERS OF THE 5-TH COMPETITION FOR RECEIVING MEGAGRANTS HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED
On September 20, 2016 the names of 40 leading scientists identified as the winners of the 5th open grant competition of the Government of the Russian Federation designed to provide governmental support to scientific research projects implemented under the supervision of the world's leading scientists at Russian universities and research institutions were announced.
The competition was attended by 542 leading scientists from 45 countries together with nearly 300 scientific and educational organizations in Russia: 428 applications filed by universities, 114 by scientific organizations.

CERN hosted the CERN-BINP workshop for young scientists in e+e- colliders from 22-25 August 2016.
The workshop was organized in the framework of the EU-funded Cremlin project (Connecting Russian and European Measures for Large-scale Research Infrastructures), which aims at strengthening science cooperation between six Russian mega-science facilities and related research infrastructure counterparts in Europe.
The workshop included lectures by prominent scientists on accelerator design, particle detectors and physics studies. The program also provided numerous site visits all around CERN. Since the workshop was discussing future colliders, it emphasized involving young people in the projects.
JOINT CALL OF THE RUSSIAN SCIENCE FOUNDATION AND THE GERMAN RESEARCH FOUNDATION (DFG)
Russian Science Foundation announces an open public call to receive grants from the Russian Science Foundation for the priority area of the Russian Science Foundation’s activity “Basic scientific research and exploratory scientific research conducted by international research teams”.
Public competition is conducted in cooperation with the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG).
Deadline: December 12, 2016.
