Launch of Horizon Europe
02 Feb 2021 Digital
The new Horizon Europe programme will be presented this Tuesday, 2 February, at an international conference to be held entirely online, transmitted from the Centro Cultural de Belém (CCB) and organised by the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Participating in the conference will be the Portuguese Minister for Science, Technology and Higher Education, Manuel Heitor, and the European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Mariya Gabriel.
Horizon Europe is the current European Union (EU) multiannual framework programme for research and innovation (R&I). It is the EU’s main initiative aimed at supporting R&I, from initial conception to marketing, and complements national and regional funding. The goal is to mobilise all of Europe, promoting coordination with the national recovery and resilience programmes, which are being prepared under the scope of the “Next Generation EU” programme. The Horizon Europe programme has a projected budget of EUR 95.5 billion, to be distributed between 2021 and 2027.
